Alpine Health supports COVID-19 Testing Blitz
Alpine Health will be supporting the Department of Health and Human Services with the major COVID-19 testing blitz taking place across Victoria. Expanded testing across the community will help Victoria to better understand how the virus is spreading in the community and prepare us for the potential easing of restrictions. Anyone who has any symptoms, however mild, is encouraged to get a test.
Widespread testing is also encouraged for the general community
- Widespread testing is strongly encouraged at the present time, with practitioners being encouraged to test any patients who meet the clinical criteria.
- Community members with symptoms ie a sore throat, runny nose, a fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, or changes to your sense of smell are encouraged to seek medical advice through their GP. Testing can be done via your GP or via the COVID-19 drive through assessment centres in Wangaratta and Wodonga.
- Community members without symptoms may also be tested at any of the Alpine Health hospital sites this coming week- see below for schedule. Appointments essential as swabs are limited. Please bring Medicare Card and smart phone to your appointment.

Consent
Consent is required for all participants and will be captured prior to testing via the COVID-19 Rapid Screening Tool. Consent is also required from a parent or guardian for all participants younger than the age of 18. Information required below is to be completed by a parent/guardian that is currently present with you at the time of performing the testing. If no parent or guardian is present, participants younger than the age of 18 must withdraw from the testing.
Additionally, all Alpine Health staff members working in residential aged care and our aged care residents without symptoms will be asked to voluntarily participate in asymptomatic sample testing to inform disease surveillance activity.
