Active April 2019
If you’ve been thinking lately about getting more active, now is the perfect opportunity. Active Alpine, a group with representation from Alpine Health, Sport North East, Alpine Shire Council and Gateway Health are supporting everyone in the Alpine Shire to get more active, more often.
The first common action for the group is to encourage community members to get involved in Premier’s Active April. This campaign is free, it’s fun and it’s part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to getting more people active and healthy. A calendar of physical activities has been created and can be accessed via organisation Facebook pages and websites. Also, keep an ear out for local legends sharing their stories on Alpine Radio on Kenny’s Neighbourhood News segment on Tuesday afternoons throughout the month about what motivated them to become and stay active.
Active April participants can log daily activity and track their progress throughout the month using a mobile app developed for iOS and Android phones. Plus participants can create and join teams, compare the progress of team members and win awesome prizes!
Just by registering every Alpine Shire participant gets 10 free passes at the Bright Sports Centre along with:
There are more offers on top of this list and there are also a range of benefits, prizes and resources for participating schools and workplaces. The Alpine Shire communities are in this together and there are plenty of free and low cost activities on offer to get active together, take this opportunity way to kick start a healthier you!
