New Outdoor Fitness Equipment has been installed at Apex Park in Myrtleford and Riverside Park in Porepunkah.

The project was led by Alpine Health with support from Gateway Health as part of the Active Alpine Group and in partnership with the Rotary Club of Myrtleford and Lions Club of Bright.

Funding for the project was made possible by a grant from the Victorian Government and Commonwealth Government under the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding and a donation from Bendigo Bank also went towards the Porepunkah site.

Health Promotion Officer from Alpine Health Maureen Ryland stated that ‘the equipment is the same across both sites and there are 14 pieces that people with all level of abilities can give a go including two wheelchair accessible pieces.  We really wanted to give the community a place to go where they can come together to be active while having fun and be in a social environment with others”.

Launches are being held across both sites with a ‘Come and Try’ demonstration.  An Exercise Physiologist will guide you through a variety of exercises suitable for all fitness levels. Ms Ryland said “Don't worry if you're new to outdoor fitness equipment - we will assist you in getting the most out of each piece. Get ready to sweat, laugh, and challenge yourself in a supportive and fun environment”.
