Healthy Communities

Alpine Health is invested in helping to create healthier environments for our local communities – where people live, work, learn and play.  We achieve this by working with individuals, families, communities, and partner organisations.

What is Health Promotion?

Health Promotion is the process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve, their health. It moves beyond a focus on individual behaviour towards a wide range of social and environmental interventions (The World Health Organisation, 2015).

The role of the Health Promotion team is to develop, support and coordinate strategies, programs and activities that enable the people of the Alpine Shire to increase control over and improve their health. This work is influenced by Alpine Health’s service delivery plan.

We collaborate with other key partners across the North East region to improve the reach and outcomes of our projects. The Health Promotion team works with a range of partners such as Local and State Government, Health Services, Schools, local Community organisations, and Universities.

Our focus in 2018-2023
