Locals urged to roll up for our region in new campaign
Media release | 20/9/2021
HEALTH services and local governments have joined together to encourage people in the North East to continue their COVID-19 vaccination efforts.
A campaign, known as Roll Up for Our Region, has been developed through a collaboration between Albury Wodonga Health, Alpine Health, Northeast Health Wangaratta and Alpine Shire Council.
Wodonga Council, AlburyCity, Rural City of Wangaratta and Gateway Health are providing support by sharing the campaign messages.
The campaign has been developed by Albury company Dutch Media and includes TV advertisements, newspaper ads, direct mail, posters, stickers and an extensive social media campaign.
Alpine Health Chief Executive Officer Nick Shaw said the campaign’s point of difference was that it featured local people who were committed to increasing vaccination efforts.
“The people used in the campaign includes a range of people from our local community,” he said.
“We are pleased to have brought these voices to the campaign as we know they will resonate strongly with audiences.
“They are representatives from some of the sectors which have been most significantly impacted by COVID-19, including business and industry operators, sportspeople, parents and those who, like all of us, have greatly felt the effects of this global pandemic.”
Alpine Shire Mayor John Forsyth said the campaign is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when organisations and communities come together for a common goal.
“This campaign is local, relevant and truly representative of the wonderful communities across the north east,” he said.
“The message is simple, but so important - if you can, get vaccinated.
“You will not only protect yourself and your family, but you’ll be supporting the local economy to rebuild as we start to enjoy more freedoms, helping us all get back to the life we love.”
