Open 24 hours a day 7 days per week. 

This service is led by a clinical team of highly skilled nurses, with private practice On-Call Doctors and other Emergency Service supports. 

We encourage all community members and visitors to seek non-urgent medical advice during business hours from their usual GP. All patients attended by a private practice On-Call Doctor within the Urgent Care Centre will receive an invoice for care from the On Call Doctor.

9 July 2024 | Alpine Health is installing new X-ray machines. The upgraded X-ray machines, which include advanced digital diagnostic capabilities and greater patient comfort and safety, will ensure that residents of Myrtleford, Bright, and Mt Beauty have access to accredited, cutting-edge medical imaging technologies.

To facilitate the seamless installation and integration of the new equipment, medical imaging services including ultrasound at all three Alpine Health sites will be temporarily suspended during July and August 2024. This brief interruption is necessary to accommodate essential building works, installation procedures, and comprehensive staff training sessions.

Alpine Health appreciates the community's understanding and patience during this period.

NOTE: The Bright and Mt Beauty existing X-Ray systems can continue to be utilised as part of Urgent Care services by accredited Doctors until 31^st July 2024.

Surgical services operate at Alpine Health on the 1^st Tuesday & 3^rd Wednesday of the month.  Alternating visiting specialists are Mr Matthew Shears, General Surgeon with Dr Phil MacLeish, General Physician for endoscopic procedures.

Specialities include general minor surgery, gastro intestinal endoscopy.

Alpine Health is a small rural health service, therefore we are limited as to what and whom we perform surgery on.  Patients who have a Body Mass Index (BMI) greater than 40 will not be able to have any form of sedation anaesthetic.  Any person who has concurrent medical problems may not be appropriate to have surgery at Alpine Health.

Most procedures performed are minor and day stay procedures.
