Mount Beauty Hospital

The Mount Beauty District Hospital has 10 beds, which provides medical, surgical, domiciliary care, palliative care and after hours Urgent Care services.

Urgent Care

The Urgent Care centre at Mt Beauty Hospital operates 24 hours a day 7 days per week. This service is led by a clinical team of highly skilled nurses, with private practice On-Call Doctors and other Emergency Service supports.

We encourage all community members and visitors to seek non-urgent medical advice during business hours from their usual GP. All patients attended by a private practice On-Call Doctor within the Urgent Care centre will receive an invoice for care from the On Call Doctor.

Medical Imaging

Medical Imaging services from the Mt Beauty Hospital can be provided by the Mt Beauty Medical Centre. Your Mt Beauty GP will make the appointment with you and out of pockets may apply.

Surgical Services

Surgical services operate at Mt Beauty 1 day per month.  The visiting specialist is Mr Francis Miller, General Surgeon.

Specialities include general minor surgery, gastro intestinal endoscopy.

Alpine Health is a small rural health service, therefore we are limited as to what and whom we perform surgery on.  Patients who have a Body Mass Index (BMI) greater than 35 may not be able to have a general anaesthetic.  Any person who has concurrent medical problems may not be appropriate to have surgery at Alpine Health.

Most procedures performed are minor and day stay procedures.
