The Community Antenatal Care Clinic will give expecting mothers who are living in the Alpine Shire and planning on having their baby at North East Health Wangaratta the opportunity to have antenatal appointments closer to home.

The clinic is operating from the Southern Consulting Rooms at Alpine Health Myrtleford and will be staffed by Alpine Health’s highly experienced midwives. Visiting Obstetrician, Attica Ritwin, from North East Health Wangaratta will attend the clinic one Thursday a month for women experiencing more difficult pregnancies.

The project has been headed up by Alpine Health’s Maternity and Newborn Services Coordinator, Andrea Herrin, who said “being able to provide Antenatal care in the Alpine Shire is incredibly important as it will decrease the distance expecting mothers have to travel to receive this care, saving them and their families/friends a lot of time, money and stress.”

“The development of the Community Antenatal Care Clinic is in line with Alpine Health's vision to improve health and well-being through the delivery of local services for local people where they live”
