Alpine Health has appointed Cameron Butler as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 May 2026, strengthening leadership continuity and supporting the ongoing development of local health services.

Mr Butler has been serving as Interim CEO since February and brings more than two decades of leadership experience in rural and regional health, including nine years as CEO of Mansfield District Hospital.

Board Chair Cameron Oxley said Mr Butler had demonstrated strong leadership and a clear understanding of Alpine Health and its community.

“Cameron has provided steady and capable leadership during a period of transition, with a strong focus on maintaining safe, high-quality care across all of our sites,” he said.

During his time as Interim CEO, Mr Butler has supported the expansion of perioperative services at Mount Beauty Hospital in partnership with Northeast Health Wangaratta and Albury Wodonga Health, improving access to care closer to home.

Mr Butler said he was proud to continue leading Alpine Health.

“It’s a privilege to take on the role of CEO and continue the important work underway at Alpine Health,” he said.

“It is a fantastic health service serving three proud towns and their surrounding communities. We have talented and energetic staff who are committed to doing the best they can and we want to continue to build Alpine Health.”

Mr Butler’s appointment provides continuity of leadership as Alpine Health continues to strengthen services and respond to the needs of its community.

Alpine Health thanks its staff, partners and community for their ongoing support.
