De-escalation of Hawthorn Village COVID-19 Outbreak

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has advised Alpine Health that Hawthorn Village in Bright has been de-escalated to an active surveillance state of the COVID19 outbreak effective Sunday 14th June 2020.
There have been no new symptomatic residents, staff or community close contacts. All close contact residents, staff and community test results have been returned and are all negative. Broader staff and community testing have also been returned and are all negative.
Alpine Health CEO, Lyndon Seys said “All residents, staff and community close contacts have been cleared and are no longer subject to further testing or quarantine. Hawthorn Village is no longer in lockdown and Hawthorn Village residents can return to current restrictions for Aged Care.”
“Visitors can now enter Hawthorn Village subject to the care facility directives for visitors, such as; only essential family visits over the next 14 days, visits of short duration, maximum 1-2 visitors, visits restricted to residents’ rooms, social distancing maintained, sanitiser available for visitors, no children, and evidence of a 2020 influenza vaccination” he said.
DHHS have advised the outbreak will be considered closed 28 days after the last confirmed case was present, all required test results return a negative result, and no further cases have occurred.
