Alpine Health would like to say a special thank you to the Myrtleford Hospital Op Shop for their tireless fundraising efforts that generate donations helping to improve the health care services for the local community.

DONATIONS

  • $12,689.39 towards artwork to complete the refurbishment of Barwidgee Lodge.
  • $12,350 to support the Crackpots to complete a ‘memory mural’ mosaic project in the Barwidgee Lodge garden.
  • $13,000 for a new bladder scanner and three up right chairs.

The Myrtleford Op Shop donated funds in October 2021 for the Barwidgee Lodge aged care facility located in the Myrtleford Hospital. The donation was used to complete the refurbishment of the aged care facility with the purchase of artworks chosen by an interior designer who specialises in aged care as well as the commission of a mosaic ‘memory mural’ to be created by the Crackpots mosaic artists for the Barwidgee Lodge garden.

Alpine Health has also been able to purchase a new bladder scanner and three upright chairs for the patient rooms in Acute which arrived to the facility at the start of this year. The bladder scanner is a non-invasive, portable tool for diagnosing, managing and treating urinary dysfunction.

Alpine Health CEO, Nick Shaw said “we are so appreciative of the support of the Myrtleford Op Shop.  They have provided for many years substantial contribution to Alpine Health to improve the health of our community.  We think they are absolutely wonderful!”

Myrtleford Health Services Manager, Mandy Barter said “the new bladder scanner will provide better health outcomes for the community and residents of Barwidgee Lodge by allowing for the management of urinary dysfunction on site without the need for a transfer to Wangaratta Hospital”
