With the financial support from both the Myrtleford Hospital Op Shop and the Mount Beauty Hospital Op Shop the Alpine Health Pulmonary and Cardiac Exercise and Education (PACE) program have been provided with automated external defibrillators (AED) that will be housed in both Ovens Valley Physio & Pilates (OVPP) Myrtleford and Lakeside Community Centre Mount Beauty.

Current PACE client Luciano Masoch and Myrtleford PACE Coordinator Maree Jenkin are both pictured with the new AED after completing a recent class.

PACE Coordinator Maree Jenkin expressed her gratitude regarding the receipt of the new equipment.  Mrs. Jenkin said “for the last 3 years we have had to carry around large volumes of equipment to each of the three PACE clinic sites (also including OVPP Bright) and being able to reduce this task will only improve program efficiencies.”

Mount Beauty and Bright PACE Coordinator Roslyn Bloomer also expressed her excitement for the new equipment stating “these two AED’s will complement the current machine to allow all PACE clinic sites to house their own AED devices.”  With the help of Zoll supports Roslyn looks forward to help orientate the PACE team and those staff at OVPP with the new lifesaving equipment.

PACE continues to provide rehabilitation for people living with chronic heart and lung conditions who live in the Alpine Shire.  If you live with heart and lung conditions please talk with your GP about a referral or call Roslyn Bloomer PACE Coordinator on 0438 384 762 for further information.
