The CEO’s of Alpine Health, Beechworth Health Service and Yackandandah Health have come together on the 22nd of February to renew the alliance agreement which commits the organisations to working together to deliver the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) under the indigo@home initiative.
The indigo@home alliance partners are committed to providing local home support services for local people to improve service access and the overall health and wellbeing of their local communities.
Mark Ashcroft, Beechworth Health CEO said “it is incredibly important that communities have the option of choosing their local health service providers for these home support services.”
Andrea O’Neil, Yackandandah Health CEO, said “the indigo@home service is supporting older people in our communities to remain independent at home for as long as possible.”
The CHSP program is funded by the Federal government for eligible community members over 65 years of age in the Indigo Shire. Alpine Health as the lead agency for the indigo@home alliance, is responsible for the operational management and delivery oversight of the CHSP program. indigo@home CHSP services include personal care, domestic assistance, meals on wheels, transport, home maintenance, home modifications and respite.
The indigo@home program delivers these services to over 400 clients in the Indigo community, with community access points available at Beechworth Health Service, Yackandandah Health and Alpine Health.
A recent recruitment drive for Home Care Support Workers in local Indigo and Alpine townships has been very successful and has attracted 10 new staff to the teams, with a second recruitment push looking likely to fill the increasing demand for services.
