Youth Support Services
Youth Support Service (AYSS) is a partnership between Alpine Health and NESAY providing a comprehensive continuum of care for young people with mental health concerns in the Alpine Shire. The service involves several staff from different professional backgrounds to ensure that support is tailored to the needs of each individual young person entering the service.
AYSS is a free service for young people of low to moderate risk. It is not a crisis service.
Support for Young People (10 - 18 years)
Young people can be seen at their schools or on Alpine Health hospital sites within the Alpine Shire. The service supports young people with mild to moderate mental health conditions including:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Grief
- Trauma
- Behavioural issues (including anger management)
- School refusal
- Social skills or integration problems
- Drug and alcohol issues
- Other addictive behaviours

How to access AYSS services
Young people and parents can be referred through their school, GP or other service providers, self-referral or referred by a friend.
